Input requested for revision On the way to PlanetProof Plant products
Publication date: 17 December 2021The criteria of the On the way to PlanetProof certification scheme for plant products will be revised in 2022. The revision ensures that the criteria remain current. All stakeholders are invited to contribute input for the revision.
Revision process 2022
The 2022 revision aims to adjust the criteria where necessary so that the ambition and feasibility of the certification scheme are guaranteed. In addition, the scheme is updated on a number of points, including the lists of permitted plant protection products. Due to the international application of the scheme, SMK will also gather input from stakeholders in other European countries. And the proposals will be assessed by an internationally composed supervisory committee. The revised certification scheme will come into effect on January 1st, 2023.

How does SMK process the input?
The Board of Experts for Plant Products will discuss the input and decide whether it will be included in the revision. The revision proposals will be discussed in a public consultation from 1 to 31 October. A final decision on the new criteria will be made by the Board on December 8, 2022.
